Godzilla 2014 Music Video: “Radioactive” By Imagine Dragons

Godzilla and “Radioactive,” the hit song by the indie-pop group Imagine Dragons. Considering that Godzilla is radioactive, the meshing of the two tent-poles in pop culture seems logical. Gravity Beats The Fifth Estate, Carrie At Box Office

Gravity
Gravity, the Sandra Bullock and George Clooney movie that's getting rave reviews as a modern classic in just its third week, has added $31 million more to its total take over the weekend, and beat out two highly-anticipated new movies in the process.

The Fifth Estate and Carrie were both much-talked about new movies and both released this weekend. The Fifth Estate, the movie about Julian Assange and the rise of Wikileaks, took in $17.3 million. Carrie, the third remake of Brian DePalma's classic 1976 film starring Sissy Spacek, earned $17 million.

That means Gravity almost earned more than twice what the other two films made, combined. The space flick also beat, Captain Phillips, which took in another $17.3 million.

Man Of Steel Movie Review

Man Of Steel is a great movie. While not quite as good as Iron Man 3 or Star Trek: Into Darkness, there should be a photo of Henry Cavill’s version of Superman right next to the word “epic” in the dictionary.

Man Of Steel was that big a film.

What stops MOS from being in a place where it is as excellent a work of film to match its bigness, is in the design of the story. The use of flashbacks did not serve Man Of Steel well. While they did help move the story along, the flashbacks helped it along too well.

In an origin story, especially one where the writers and producers and director were making so many changes to the characters, having a few linear moments of levity during his young years would have been perfect.

And while I liked Hans Zimmer’s music, it wasn’t on the level of John Williams. You need an epic movie soundtrack to go with an epic film, and Mr. Zimmer didn’t bring that – John Williams’ “March Of Superman” is still the gold standard, and it’s role as the thrown-holder here has not been touched.

As for the actors, Henry Cavill has nailed the Superman / Clark Kent character, and is at his best in his scenes with Diane Lane and Kevin Costner, who plays his mother, Martha Kent and dad Johnathan Kent, respectively. Amy Adams’ Lois Lane needed more to do in terms of meat, and while she was good, there were one too many times where she seems reduced to needing Superman’s help.

Michael Shannon’s ‘General Zod’ was the best ever, and Mr. Shannon is arguably the best actor in the movie, and one of the best bad guys in film history, and combined with how well Lawrence Fishburn played Perry White, was the reason Man Of Steel is a top-knotch film.

Fast And Furious 6: Women For Black Men?

Fast And Furious 6, the action movie starring Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has topped the $100 million mark, already, and it was just released last week, on May 24th.

The sixth installment of the fast cars battle between cops and criminals, also has two African American entertainment stars Ludacis, and Tyrese.

I happened to see Fast And Furious 6 while waiting to see Iron Man 3 at the AMC Metreon 16 Theater in San Francisco, and while it was really entertaining, I could not help but notice that the two “obviously” black stars, Ludacis, and Tyrese, were without women love interests, whereas Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Paul Walker, had them: Michelle Rodriguez for Vin Diesel, most notably.

The constant message was that every man who wasn’t obviously black had a woman, but the black guys were just along for the ride and womanless. The rest at Zennie62.com here: Fast And Furious 6: Black Men Have No Women
